Leadership
Joerg Hempelmann
Joerg Hempelmann brings strong expertise in communications, brand building, lifecycle management, digital strategy, marketing and an entrepreneurial spirit to his position as President of IPG Health in EMEA and APAC. He shares the vision to create game-changing marketing solutions for consumers, patients and healthcare professionals. As President of IPG Health EMEA, Joerg is the driving force in establishing and growing the IPG Health offering across Europe, the Middle East and Africa, which includes offices in the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Spain and affiliates in Italy, Poland, Romania, South Africa and Turkey. In 2024 his role expanded to also lead the network’s offering in the APAC region, which includes agencies in China, Japan and India. Joerg works closely with the leadership in these regions maximizing the sharing of resources, optimizing utilization, and knowledge sharing across the regions and the rest of the global IPG Health network. With a strong focus on innovation, Joerg founded JNB Health Advertising near Frankfurt am Main in 1994 — a leading health communications company in Germany — which was acquired by McCann Worldgroup and merged with McCann Health in 2011. Following the acquisition, Joerg led McCann Health Germany, driving innovative solutions for the network’s healthcare clients. In 2018, he took on the role of President of FCB Health Europe. Under his leadership, the network earned an enviable reputation with a comprehensive offering that combines science, strategy, and creative that delivers best-in-class services to clients. Over his career, Joerg has worked in virtually every therapeutic category, from high science and OTC to devices and diagnostics, across every phase of a brand’s lifecycle. Prior to joining IPG Health, he worked for WPP and Sudler & Hennessey. Joerg embodies exceptional leadership qualities. A remarkable manager, he skillfully navigates challenges with passion and a visionary approach. He is a catalyst for client success, consistently creating opportunities and presenting innovative ideas that redefine industry standards. His collaborative leadership fuels equity, diversity and inclusion across the network’s business, inviting everyone to become an integral part of the IPG Health success story. Joerg is a graduate of the Academy for Marketing and Communication in Frankfurt, Main (Germany).
Caroline Smith
Caroline Smith is the Executive Director of Talent for IPG Health agencies in Europe, including the network’s Medical Communications agencies. With 20 years in the broader IPG network, Caroline has built a successful HR career centered on ensuring talent’s growth and wellbeing. As a strategic partner to the executive leadership team in Europe, Caroline drives excellence in employee experience throughout the talent lifecycle. She has built a highly regarded specialist HR team in the region that helps catapult business growth and designs, drives and delivers industry-first people initiatives that align with global HR practices. Caroline’s healthy obsession with attracting, developing and retaining the industry’s best talent is anchored in a steadfast belief in offering people careers, not just jobs. The capability of the line management group is of particular interest to her, as is hiring a diverse group of people who have a lifelong commitment to learning. Inka Ficht
As Client Engagement Director for IPG Health Europe, Inka Ficht leads the Specialty Offering in the region. The Specialty Offering comprises branding, expert and patient communication, in addition to Global Market Access, events and experiential. With over 20 years of experience in managing and leading international, regional and local teams, Inka draws from the network’s universe of talent, capabilities and resources to accelerate impact and success for IPG Health clients in Europe and around the world. Her expertise spans across various indications including women´s health, cardiology, CKD, cough and cold, dental hygiene, medical devices, renal care, rheumatoid arthritis, oncology, dermatology, rare disease and gastroenterology, in both OTC and Rx settings targeting HCPs, consumers, payers and experts. Her healthy obsession is working alongside dedicated experts and client teams to facilitate the best solution for HCPs and patients by developing the right programs for each audience.
Robert Schumacher
As a Client Engagement Director at IPG Health Europe, Robert Schumacher draws from a treasure trove of experience. Ever since joining the network over 20 years ago, he has demonstrated a keen understanding of the healthcare market, a legendary intuition for great concepts and a passion for developing new ideas. His expertise ranges from Rx, MedTech and OTC brands on a national and international level via DTC and below the line experience, to integrated campaigns, direct marketing and events. Robert not only ensures smooth implementation of projects but also loves to immerse himself into creative and strategic processes. The dedication and motivation that Robert displays when working for and with clients make him a great counterpart in the development of truly inspiring concepts.
Fátima Ruiz-Moreno
As a Client Engagement Director at IPG Health Europe and Regional Lead for Global Clients in Europe, Fátima Ruiz-Moreno has over 12 years of international leadership and successful business management experience developing commercial teams within advertising and health tech. She has lived in 10 different countries and worked across 60 different markets including LATAM, APAC and MENA in the media and advertising industry. Fátima coordinates global and regional hubs across our agencies in Europe. By building on best practices in effectiveness and efficiency, careful review and rapid learning, she ensures operational excellence that is closely aligned with the strategic intentions of our global clients. Recently, Fátima has driven innovation and patient connections working in e-health, helping patients and HCPs communicate better with each other. From a data-led perspective, Fátima brings a consumer lens approach to healthcare and has expanded IPG Health Europe’s building engagement and connections.
Michael Le Brocq
As Managing Director of SOLVE(D), EMEA & APAC, Michael Le Brocq leads a multi-disciplinary team of data analysts, data scientists, behavioral scientists, media experts and digital transformation advisors across the region. He and his team provide clients with solutions to the ever-increasing need for effective, measurable omnichannel marketing campaigns, enabling clients and their brands to attach human meaning to every interaction in health. Michael has worked in healthcare communications for more than 25 years as a pharmaceutical marketer for Pfizer, Novartis and Stiefel, as part of several successful healthcare start-ups, as a planner and strategist for global advertising agencies, and in leading positions across various Interpublic agencies.
Isabel Rojas
As Group Head of Planning for IPG Health Europe, Isabel leads the strategy discipline across the region with teams in the UK, Spain, France and Germany. She has nearly two decades of experience in marketing, advertising and media, having worked in client and agency roles. Isabel has worked at global, regional and UK levels, gaining experience across multiple product categories including healthcare, personal care, telecom, beverages and consumer goods. Her work in biologics and biosimilars brands spans various therapeutic areas such as respiratory, neuroscience, cardiology, oncology, dermatology and women’s health. Isabel’s strategic work has been foundational for award-winning creative campaigns that have been recognized by PM Society, The Drum Roses and Creative Floor, with a D&AD shortlist and a Lürzer’s Archive publication. She has a healthy obsession with identifying challenges, uncovering insights and designing strategies to help brands succeed, and is on a mission to grow the strongest planning team in healthcare communications across Europe – delivering outstanding results that inspire our clients and our people.
Jerome Cholet
Jérôme Cholet serves as Director, PR & Communications at IPG Health Europe. The German-French national leads external and internal communications in the region, focused on amplifying the network’s impact on client brands, communities and lives. Jérôme started his career as a journalist working for various media outlets, including German broadcasters ARD and ZDF, the magazine MAX and the newspaper ‘Das Parlament,’ published by the German Federal Parliament. He worked at several scientific institutions and is closely connected to the health and healthcare trade press, as well as the advertising and consumer press. He is fluent in German, English, French and Portuguese, and speaks a little Spanish. From holistic PR strategies, comprehensive communication concepts and internal or external events such as the Berlin Fashion Week to promising catalogs of measures, the execution of concrete campaigns, ghostwriting, media training, and evaluation and assessment, Jérôme has mastered the entire public relations repertoire.
Jonathan Kukathasan
As President of IPG Health UK, Jonathan Kukathasan oversees operations for FCB Health London, FCB Health Hampshire and McCann Health London. Prior to his country-wide role with IPG Health, Jonathan spent over 15 years at McCann Health London, holding various instrumental leadership positions that helped drive the agency’s exceptional growth. During this time, Jonathan worked across several therapeutic areas including respiratory, oncology, immunology and vaccines at local, regional and global levels across established brands, portfolios and first-to-market drugs. He is skilled at translating complex healthcare issues into simple, effective storytelling that changes lives. Jonathan is extremely passionate about improving health outcomes, in particular the crucial role that EDI plays in this. Coming from a family of healthcare professionals and equipped with a global perspective of health challenges, he is experienced at building a diverse and inclusive culture as a means to driving health equity.
Claire Vancappel
After joining IPG Health over 10 years ago, and with several years of professional experience in pharmaceutical and agency communications, Claire Vancappel began serving as Managing Director of IPG Health France in 2022. Claire’s areas of expertise range from Rx to OTC, consumer health to medical communication and beyond. She has immense experience across different therapeutic areas including neurology, respiratory, oncology, inflammatory bowel diseases, ophthalmology, dermatology, diabetes and HCV, among others, and has collaborated with top healthcare companies including Novartis, MSD, GSK, ViiV, Janssen and Pfizer. She leads the integration of creative, strategic and medical teams to create insightful and groundbreaking campaigns for clients. Claire’s healthy obsession is to be involved in the birth of a project from brief to final execution. She was honored by McCann Health with the Commitment Award in 2020, as well as the Chairman's Award in 2018.
Philippe Pariente
Philippe Pariente serves as President of IPG Health France, heading operations for FCB Health Paris, IPG Health Paris and McCann Health Paris. He has accrued over 20 years of experience in international healthcare communications across several agencies in France, including serving as President at Saatchi & Saatchi Healthcare Paris (Publicis Group) for six years before he joined McCann Health – later IPG Health. He has extensive experience in almost all therapeutic areas for notable clients including MSD, Novartis, Sanofi, Pfizer, Roche, GSK, BMS and Amgen. Philippe leans on his experience as a physician to elevate clients’ brands. In fact, as project leader at the French Association for the Fight Against AIDS (‘L’Agence Française de Lutte contre le Sida’), he led communications geared towards healthcare professionals across France until 1994.
Loris Marchet
As President of IPG Health Spain, Loris Marchet heads the operations of the award-winning FCB Health Barcelona, FCB Health Madrid, McCann Health Barcelona and McCann Health Madrid, providing cutting-edge marketing and communications services to the country’s leading pharma companies and health clients. Throughout his over 25 year career, most of which has been spent with IPG as part of MRM, McCann Health, FCB Health Europe, and now IPG Health, Loris has led the marketing of regional and global clients in Europe, the UK, the United States and Latin America, and has helped to build some of the most successful brands. His experience covers a broad range of therapeutic indications including aesthetics, CNS, dermatology, infectious diseases, oncology, respiratory, rheumatology and women’s health, among others. He has collaborated with OTC, Rx and consumer brands across communication disciplines including professional advertising, DTP/DTC, public relations and digital communications.
Max Lechner
As President of IPG Health Germany, Maximilian Lechner oversees the local presence of the largest health marketing network, consisting of four operating agencies – IPG Health Frankfurt, IPG Health Munich, McCann Health Frankfurt and FCB Health Frankfurt – as well as a hub in Berlin. He has been with IPG Health since 2018, leading the country’s integrated team and agency business. Max has more than 15 years of experience serving major health clients ranging from pharmaceutical companies to hospital institutions and medical organizations. Under Max’s leadership, IPG Health has become one of Germany’s most acclaimed health communication operations.
