Bold Beginners Internship Program

Applications are now closed for the Summer 2023 season. Feel free to join our Campus Talent Community to receive outreach about other IPG Health Early Careers Opportunities!

At IPG Health, we’re obsessed with helping our people grow. Bold Beginners offers an immersive, hands-on learning opportunity for college students interested in pursuing a career in advertising, with a focus on the future of healthcare.

Every year, we aim to hire a diverse intern community to contribute their perspectives, experiences, and skills to the Bold Beginners Internship Program and beyond. Everything we do is rooted in our commitment to doing what’s right for our clients, their brands and our people. And we can’t do that unless equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI) are at the heart of our business.

That’s why, at IPG Health, EDI isn’t the responsibility of any one person, group, discipline or department – we are all responsible for it, and it’s ingrained in everything we do – from our work and creative solutions, to how we invest in our people and show up in our communities. We all bring something different to the table, and it’s that diversity of thought and life experiences that leads to better, more powerful work.

We accept interns across most of our disciplines, including Account Management, Strategic Planning, Data Analytics, Media, Content Creation, Art Direction, Copywriting and more.

How does it work?

Bold Beginners is a paid nine-week summer internship program, designed to support interns as they gain real-world experience, learn more about healthcare advertising and IPG Health, and network with senior leadership.

Each week, interns will:

  • Work 1:1 with a designated mentor in their selected discipline
  • Attend weekly Lunch & Learns to gain exposure to IPG Health’s various agencies, brands and departments
  • Work in groups on a Pitch for a real client of ours, and present their ideas to senior leadership and C-level executives at the end of the summer
  • Participate in optional career development workshops focused on honing skill sets such as business writing, resume building and public speaking

The internship can be completed through a fully remote or a hybrid schedule. The format option is up to each individual intern and does not impact your participation in the program.

What is the application process?

Candidates will apply directly to their department of interest. You may apply to multiple departments if you choose, but we recommend limiting your focus to three applications total for a more focused process.

Candidates who are chosen to move forward in the application process will receive an email in about 4-10 weeks requesting a phone screen with one of our recruiters. The timeline may increase based on volume of applications we receive.

After the phone screen, applicants who are chosen to move forward will interview with a specific team as a final step in the application process.

Decisions regarding internship placement should occur no later than the end of April.

Who can participate?

All departments and applicants require a resume or detailed LinkedIn profile for their application.

Applications for creative disciplines (Art Direction, Copywriting, UXUI, XD, BX, etc) will also need a portfolio. If your portfolio is a website that requires a password, please make sure to provide the password as well.
