Mis[s]diagnosed

Cardiovascular disease is the cause of one in every three deaths in women globally. Many of the symptoms of a heart attack can appear differently in women. These lesser-known symptoms include unusual fatigue, light-headedness, upper back pain, neck pain, jaw pain, nausea, feeling of heartburn, indigestion, and discomfort in one or both arms. This is largely due to decades of gender bias, where women have been excluded from clinical trials, now putting women’s lives at risk.

To expose and bridge this medical gender data gap, McCann Health Dubai launched "Mis[s]diagnosed." Awareness aid kits were dispatched to 20+ influential women from the region, 40+ Healthcare Professionals (HCPs) across Egypt, Bahrain, Lebanon, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE, along with endorsements from 12+ societies and associations, to raise awareness of the less-known symptoms of female heart attacks.
