Finding Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and recruiting them, for example, for education programmes for patients with complicated diseases, is vital. However, most tools are very inaccurate. Many databases contain up to 20 per cent inactive entries, i.e. registered opinion leaders who are no longer active.
